OUR PROCESSES
Musk Creek Farm offers a range of services for thoroughbreds including: Broodmare agistment, foaling down, breeding preparation, weaning, racehorse spelling, yearling preparation & sales preparation.
BROODMARE AGISTMENT
Broodmare agistment is available for long- or short-term boarders. Paddocks vary in sizes ranging from 20 acres to individual half-acre lots, with:
- Horse-specific fencing
- Quality Rye / Clover pasture
- Shade trees
- Horse shelters
- Clean paddocks
FOALING DOWN
We provide individual foaling attention, meeting each mare’s requirements. Mares are foaled down in individual straw stables or in individual grass yards, under floodlights with experienced professional staff. 24 hour monitoring is conducted throughout the foaling season.
BREEDING PREPARATION
Pre-season preparation is available for dry and maiden mares. Mares can be monitored through their cycle, rugged and stabled under lights – giving them the best of opportunity for conception.
WALK OUT SERVICE
Musk Creek Farm walks mares out to all Victorian Stallions.
FOALS
Foal handling begins from birth and continues through to weaning, which is undertaken in March.
FOALING DOWN
All stock are handled from birth. Our weaning process includes daily handling, branding, DNA testing, microchipping, washing and rugging.
RACEHORSE SPELLING
Tailored to the individual needs of each horse and the requirements of trainers:

- Quality Rye / Clover pasture
- Shade trees
- Horse shelters
- Clean paddocks
YEARLING PREPARATION
Musk Creek Farm have a proven & professional yearling program, tailored to the individual needs of each horse. The outstanding success of Musk Creek Farm’s yearlings in the sale ring and on the racetrack is great testament to the program.
The program includes:
- 8 - 10 week preparation
- Daily exercise
- Grooming
- Rugging
- Education to walk in-hand
SALES PREPARATION
Preparation for general thoroughbred sales can be provided.
VETERINARY SERVICES
Veterinary services are provided by renowned Equine Vets Dr Marcus Valmadre (BSC BVMS) & Dr Tracy Simmons (BSC BVMS). All are on call to the farm 24 hours a day, all year round and offer the best in veterinary care.
